On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the execution of the first resistance fighters against the Nazi regime, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law of the University of Vienna and the association "Justizgeschichte & Rechtsstaat“ commemorate the victims and resistance fighters within the framework of the Symposium "Diktatur und Widerstand" (Dictatorship and Resistance). The symposium will take place from June 29 to July 1, 2022 at four locations in Vienna.
On Tuesday, 28.06.2022, from 12:30 - 17:00, the conference "Das Wohl der Kinder und ihre Interessen. 10 Jahre BVG Kinderrechte" (The well-being of children and their interests. 10 years of the Federal Constitutional Law on Children's Rights) of the Austrian Institute for Human Rights at the University of Salzburg will take place. Our colleague Helmut Sax will be one of the speakers at the conference.

The 21st Austrian Lawyers' Day will be held at the University of Vienna from 1 to 3 June 2022. The theme of this year's programme for the Public Law Department is "Protecting fundamental rights in the face of new challenges". Our Scientific Director Michael Lysander Fremuth will speak on 2 June about the crisis in Ukraine, international law as well as human rights issues.

In the framework of our project EU Support for Rule of Law in North Macedonia an initial workshop on (inter-)national good practices "For establishing a tailor-made instrument for monitoring the implementation of children ‘s rights" will take place on 20 May.
The NGO Forum 2022 of the Austrian Ombudsman Board will take place from May 12 to 13, 2022. The focus of this year's forum is the topic "Basic Social Rights". The European Union Agency for Asylum is organising a brief info-session on the Survey of Arriving Migrants from Ukraine on Thursday 05 May (14:00-14:45 through Webex).
