On September 29th Karin Lukas, President of the European Committee of Social Rights (Council of Europe) and senior researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, will be speaking at the round table on the “European Social Charter – 60th anniversary and 25 years of Russian membership of the Council of Europe” in Moscow.
On September 30th Dr. Adel-Naim Reyhani, expert on asylum and migration law at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, will be speaking at the international conference “immigration law and policy, border control and migrant deaths” of the Humboldt University Berlin on the topic of “The Rightlessness of Refugees in Libya”.

On Wednesday, September 22, our Scientific Director Univ.-Prof. Dr. Michael Lysander Fremuth is speaking at the WUS100 Global Conference on the Human Right to Quality Education. Together with other experts of the working group he discusses the topic of "Shrinking Civic Space and Academic Freedom".
On Tuesday, September 14th, our colleague and child rights expert Helmut Sax will speak at the international Think-tank event "Understanding the Linkages between (Labor) Exploitation, Migration & Human Trafficking" on the subject of human trafficking and migration.
"Access to justice for migrants requires institutional support, both for adults and for young people," so Helmut Sax. During the panel discussion, the experts will discuss the gap between theory and practice, give a deep insight into reality and suggest possible solutions.
The importance of national criminal jurisdictions for the enforcement of International Criminal Law will be the subject of the conference ‘International Criminal Law before Domestic Courts’, which will be held from Thursday, October 14, to Saturday, October 16, 2021, by the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights under the responsibility of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Michael Lysander Fremuth.
Join the regional launch of The Oxford Handbook of International Refugee Law (OUP 2021) this Thursday, June 17th at 3 pm. The subject of the online discussion will be Europe’s externalisation practices and their impact on refugee protection. Our colleague Adel-Naim Reyhani, researcher in the field of asylum, anti-discrimination and diversity, is taking part in the online debate as one of the scholars participating in the discussion.
