On 25 October, the member states of the European Union celebrate the European Day of Justice to bring justice closer to citizens and to inform citizens about their rights. However, the EU is also committed to improve legal protection and support for persons concerned outside the borders of the European Union, e.g. in Azerbaijan. Since 2020, the Ludwig Boltzmann of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) has been working with Azerbaijani and Lithuanian partners to improve legal protection and to strengthen the support for victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the European Social Charter the council of Europe holds a high-level panel in Strasbourg in the morning of October 18. As part of the event, Karin Lukas, President of the European Committee of Social Rights and Senior Researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR), will discuss with various institutions of the Council of Europe about the effectiveness of the Charter and the strengthening of its mechanism to improve the implementation of social rights in Europe.
