20 days in Mariupol

On Wednesday, 21 February 2024, a film screening including a subsequent panel discussion about two years of war in Ukraine will take place at the Votiv Kino in Vienna.
Andreas Sauermoser, researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR), will discuss the war in Ukraine on Wednesday, 21 February 2024, at 6:00 pm after the screening of the Oscar-nominated film “20 days in Mariupol” at the Votiv Kino.
The film is about an Associated Press team of Ukrainian journalists stuck in the besieged city of Mariupol. They are fighting to continue their work. The journalists capture images of the war to document the atrocities of the Russian invasion. “20 Days in Mariupol” is the first feature film by Mstyslav Chernov. It is based on Chernov’s footage from his country during the war.
“20 days in Mariupol” lasts 94 minutes and will be shown in the original language (English, Ukrainian and Russian) with English subtitles.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic:
