Book presentation of „The Oxford Handbook of LGBTI Law”

The book launch will be followed by a symposium on freedom of gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights is pleased to announce the presentation of “The Oxford Handbook of LGBTI Law” on Thursday, 10 October 2024 at the Geneva Academy, Switzerland. Michael Lysander Fremuth, Scientific Director at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) and Professor of Fundamental and Human Rights at the University of Vienna, is co-editor and -author of the handbook. Together with his co-author and co-editor, Andreas R. Ziegler, Director of the Centre for Comparative, European and International Law (CDCEI) and Professor of International Law and International Economic Law at the University of Lausanne, he will give the opening speech. The theme of the speech is the current state of freedom of gender identity and sexual orientation.
Furthermore, a symposium on the Oxford Handbook of LGBTI Law will take place on 11 October 2024, featuring a series of exciting presentations by various aspects of the topic. The LBI-GMR will be represented by Michael Lysander Fremuth, on the topic of “Migration and Asylum”, and Andreas Sauermoser, who will speak about “Queering in International Criminal Law”.
