The international workshop “Exploring European Social Citizenship” will take place on Friday, 13 January 2023, with numerous experts, including Karin Lukas from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights.

On Friday, 13 January 2023, at 9:00 the international workshop “Exploring European Social Citizenship” will start on site in Trento, Italy and online. Our colleague Karin Lukas from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) will participate as an expert.

Karin Lukas will talk about Freedom and Precariousness from 15:00 to 16:00. More precisely she will address the European Social Citizenship and Platform Economy. Digital labour platforms create opportunities for businesses and self-employed workers, as well as improved access to services for consumers. However, new challenges emerge: it becomes increasingly difficult to correctly classify the employment status of people, leading in some cases to inadequate labour rights and social protection.

The workshop offers many more interesting contributions, among others on the topics of economic vulnerability and social citizenship or fair remuneration, minimum wages and prevention of in-work poverty. You can find the detailed programme here.

If you are interested, you can register here for online participation (open until Thursday, 12 January 2023, 12:00).
