Together with Astrid Winkler (ECPAT Austria), Helmut Sax organizes a workshop discussing conceptual and practical challenges for efforts addressing trafficking and exploitation of children, as part of the Vienna Conference on Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings on Thursday, 19 October 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., held by the Austrian Task Force on Combatting Human Trafficking, chaired by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
Trafficking of children for the purpose of exploitation intersects with several major concerns for child rights protection, including protection from child labour, safe migration of children as well as the online dimension of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Workshop panelists will address matters of definition and limits of concepts of child trafficking, current EU developments for child online safety and the role of internet service providers.
A detailed conference agenda and registration for on-site and online participation is available at the website of the Foreign Ministry.
