Turkish lawyer and attorney Ceren Uysal, who had to leave Turkey because of her committed work and has recently started to work as a researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, was awarded the Dr. Georg Lebiszczak-Preis for Freedom of Speech on the International Day of Human Rights.

The prize was established in memory of Georg Lebiszczak and is an award for the commitment of persecuted or already imprisoned opinion leaders. The BIM is represented in the jury by Anna Müller-Funk.
