Newsletter July 2025
Just in time for the holiday season, we are pleased to present some digital reading material from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights.
We look forward to the upcoming closing event of our research project ‘LGBTIQ Detainees – Strengthening the Rights of LGBTIQ Detainees in the EU’, as well as interesting interviews and contributions to discussions – for example by Michael Lysander Fremuth, scientific director of our institute and professor of fundamental and human rights at the University of Vienna, as part of the Ö1 Science Arena.
We are also pleased to report on the visit of some of our team members to Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) and the subsequent counter-visit of high-ranking Kyrgyz officials and experts to Vienna. The exchange took place in the context of the project ‘Supporting Justice Reform in the Kyrgyz Republic’ (JUST4ALL).
Regarding future events, we are pleased to announce the next Human Rights Talk on Thursday, 23 October 2025. It will take place in Graz, as an exception, in cooperation with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Research on Consequences of War. It will be dedicated the historical and contemporary impact of political repression in the Soviet Union on civil society and human rights.
