Support for the Human Dignity and Public Security Team
We are pleased to welcome Annika Sara Fuchs as a research associate at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights
Annika Sara Fuchs will take over the coordination of the new project IMPACT, which focuses on the impact of national monitoring mechanisms with regard to the rights of persons with intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities deprived of their liberty under criminal law, as a project manager in the Human Dignity and Public Security programme line.
Annika completed her Bachelor’s degree in International and European Law at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. This was followed by a Master’s degree in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights at the Geneva Academy. She is particularly interested in the field of human rights and torture prevention, the protection of vulnerable groups, international criminal law and international law.
She has been enjoying her time in Vienna since November last year, as Annika recently completed a legal internship at UNHCR Austria. Prior to that, she worked for just over a year as part of an international defence team on a case before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague and also gained experience at the Convention against Torture Initiative in Geneva and at the Council of the EU in Brussels.
Annika is looking forward to contributing to the Institute’s work as a project manager and researcher.
