Multilingual cooperation

In the fourth transnational meeting of the “BAG-Sign” project, researchers and teachers cooperated in six different sign languages and four spoken languages.

As part of the “BAG-SIGN” project, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) hosted the fourth transnational project meeting in Vienna from 15 to 17 May 2025. The event was attended by nearly 40 researchers and school teachers from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Austria, representing all ten project partners. During the three productive days of the event, work was carried out in six different sign languages and four spoken languages.

The aim of the “BAG-Sign” project is to strengthen the linguistic knowledge of deaf, hard of hearing and hearing pupils in sign languages by creating an pedagogical grammar for five different European sign languages (ÖGS, DGS, DSGS, LIS and LSF). The website with the pedagogical grammars will be presented in November 2025 in an online public conference.

You can pre-registrate here to participate in the – also multilingual – conference (free of charge).
