Ukrainian legal scholar Vitaliy Kosovych, a doctoral researcher at the University of Notre Dame (USA), is spending the summer as a visiting researcher at the LBI-GMR. In his doctoral research, he explores the philosophical and legal foundations of international children’s rights, with a particular focus on child labor.

During a Brown Bag Lunch, he introduced the Institute team to two fundamental regulatory approaches: vulnerability and entitlement. After presenting his case for a pragmatic middle ground, the session opened into a lively discussion with colleagues from the Institute’s research groups and administration.

The interdisciplinary exchange highlighted the diverse perspectives on children’s rights within the Institute and demonstrated how valuable such diversity is in addressing complex human rights issues.
