We are pleased to welcome a new research assistant at the LBI-GMR

A new face is joining our institute – a warm welcome to Nicole.

Nicole Vidan has been working as a study assistant in the “General Human Rights Issues” programme line at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) since March 2026. She is studying law at the University of Vienna and, in her role, will primarily support the University of Vienna’s “Research Network Democracy and Human Rights”, which focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration in this field.

Before joining our institute, Nicole had already gained professional experience in law firms, NGOs, and at the university. She had previously completed an internship at the LBI-GMR in the “Human Dignity and Public Security” programme line, where she gained valuable initial experience in human rights research.

Nicole says of her work: “It was at the LBI-GMR that I first became involved in research on fundamental and human rights, and that sparked my interest in this field. I quickly realized how important interdisciplinary work is in the field of human rights. That’s why I’m excited to be part of this research network and to engage in dialogue with other disciplines.

We are delighted to have Nicole with us and wish her a successful start as well as much joy in her work at the LBI-GMR.
