The brochure „Die Schulbibliothek als Ort der Politischen Bildung“ contains ideas and suggestions for projects in and with the school library and presents offers and initiatives relating to literature, media and civic education. As places of information and exchange, school libraries are important partners when it comes to anchoring civic education in a school. The learning environment of the school library is particularly suitable for open and interdisciplinary forms of teaching, project work and independent research. Working in and with the school library helps pupils to acquire reading, media and information skills and to make well-founded decisions. The use of the school library for discussions and exchanges – in the form of readings, exhibitions and workshops on a wide range of topics and focal points – also makes it a place for political education.
