With “International Criminal Law before Domestic Courts”, the third volume of the publication series “Menschen.Rechte!” by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) was published by MANZ-Verlag in June 2024. Michael Lysander Fremuth, scientific director of our institute and professor for fundamental and human rights at the University of Vienna, along with our colleagues Andreas Sauermoser and Konstantina Stavrou, delivers an important contribution to questions concerning the effective fight against international human rights violations.

The book sheds light on the complex links between international criminal law and the protection of human rights. Many international criminal offences constitute serious human rights violations, but can only be prosecuted to a limited extent by international criminal courts such as the International Criminal Court (ICC).
