International experts discuss the prevention of human trafficking and exploitation at the round table.

On Fri, 30 September 2022, the Vienna Chamber of Labour will host an international round table on the topic “Mind the Gap! Tackling the Lack of Attention on Preventing Human Trafficking and Exploitation”.

Our colleague Helmut Sax, Senior Researcher and Child Rights Expert at the LBI-GMR, will participate in the round table discussion on the guiding principles for preventing human trafficking. From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., experts will discuss the most important principles for preventing human trafficking and the exploitation associated with it. Helmut Sax says: “Prevention of trafficking from a human rights perspective requires not only identification of individuals at risk, but also, structurally, of mechanisms and, eventually, whole sectors of the labour market creating such risks.”

In addition to the roundtable discussion with our colleague, other exciting debates will take place, including on how to curb the demand regarding human trafficking, as well as on the topic of human dignity and non-discrimination.

The entire event will be held in English. Registration is required and still possible until Sun., 25 September 2022.

Further information on the event is available here or in the download area.
