Got it? Verstehst? Chapes? Intercultural Understanding between young people

About the Project

“Got it?” is a European project on the theme of communication among young people in a context of intercultural diversity. Five organizations from four different EU-Countries worked together, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental an Human Rights (LBI-GMR) taking the role of lead institution.
Finding an appropriate way to deal with religious and cultural diversity is essential for the foundation of a peaceful Europe. Especially youth from migration backgrounds are experts on this field. Therefore the project focused on their experiences.
Main questions were: In which way are participation, (dis-)integration and discrimination or equal opportunities related to each other? How can young people with different backgrounds communicate and understand each other? What are migration trends to and within Europe, how is migration restricted and regulated by national law?
The framework for these debates was a summer academy, where youth from the UK, Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria met and worked, played and lived together. The priority was on interactive and participative methods, such as group exercises, discussions, role-play, etc. The results of the project were presented in a radio programme produced by the participants.
