UKRAINE: Assistance to the Legal and Administrative Reforms in the Sphere of Migration and Refugees’ Protection

About the Project

The overall objective of this TACIS project, implemented under the Institution Building and Partnership Programme (IBPP), was to increase the competence of the staff of Ukrainian authorities in asylum and asylum-related matters and the inter-institutional cooperation of the authorities involved by establishing internal working relations. Furthermore, the project aimed to assist Ukraine to bring its asylum and asylum related legislation in line with EU standards and EU Member State practice. To facilitate the day-to-day work of the relevant authorities, a practical guidebook on asylum and the Russian-language website asylum-online have been developed as working tools.
LBI-GMR’s partners in this project were the Ukrainian State Committee for Nationalities and Migration (SCNM) and the Migration Department of the Lithuanian Ministry of Interior as junior partner in a Member State consortium.
