Human Rights Talk: Human Rights – Guarantee for All or Favoritism for a Few? – The Perception of Human Rights in the Public and the Judiciary

When

Wed, 26. February 2020 – 18:00 -20:00

Where

Palais Trautson, Großer Festsaal, Museumstraße 7, 1070 Wien

By definition, human rights apply to all people. Nevertheless, they are perceived less and less as a guarantee for all and more and more as a privilege for marginalized groups. This tendency exists not only in Europe, but worldwide, and is deliberately reinforced and exploited by some political actors. How can we make it so that human rights are once again perceived and appreciated as universal by the general public? How does the media contribute to public awareness? What contribution do science and civil society make? And what is the position of the Austrian judiciary?
The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, the University of Vienna and Amnesty International invite you to the Human Rights Talk on Wed, 26 February 2020, at 6 pm at Palais Trautson, Großer Festsaal, Museumstraße 7, 1070 Vienna.
