Geschichte nutzen. Unterrichtsbeispiele zur Förderung von historischer Orientierungskompetenz
The ability, skill and willingness to consult history in order to better navigate oneself in the present is referred to as “historical orientation competence”. It is regarded as the intersection between history and civic education because it aims to utilise the experiences of the past to shape the present and future. While the logic of methodological and knowledge-related competences is easy for history teachers to understand, historical orientation competence seems more nebulous and the practical promotion of this competence in the classroom less clear. The lesson outlines collected in the booklet “Geschichte nutzen. Unterrichtsbeispiele zur Förderung von historischer Orientierungskompetenz.” are intended to provide exemplary suggestions.
