Media literacy has become a central buzzword in school development processes. The field of civic education is affected by this change in two ways. The media transformation is deeply political because it fundamentally changes the way we live together. At the same time, the digital transformation is changing the way we design and think about teaching. The brochure “Political education and digital learning: Institutions, Tools and Games” shows, with a view to civic education, that net culture can be creative and versatile and fits in very well with contemporary education. It provides interested teachers with ideas for the use of specific digital offerings and basic information on relevant institutions.

The structure of the booklet is divided into institutions, exemplary tools and digital games. In the selection process, attention was paid to quick usability in the classroom, ease of use and, where possible, free access. The electronic offering is intended to encourage people not simply to digitize the tried and tested, but to think in terms of new forms of processing and to ensure action-oriented teaching
