This Human World / Human Rights Film Festival

The Top Kino and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, together with the Czech Centre in Vienna and the One World film festival in Prague, founded the ‘this human world’ film festival to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
And so it follows that the festival is dedicated to human rights, as well as to raising awareness of human rights violations. The list of films dealing with issues of freedom and dignity, justice and democracy as well as other global problems, is long. This films have a plattform every year, in the first two weeks of December at the biggest Austrian human rights film festival. Human rights themes are dealt with cinematographically and explored in more detail in expert panel discussions and rich programme of side events.
Overall, around 100 films are shown during each festival, which is attended by around 5,000 guests each year. The festival this human world has in the past years established itself as a firm fixture in the Austrian cinema landscape bridging human rights and films.
