On Fri, 22 January 2021, the official review of the human rights situation in Austria will now take place for the third time as part of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

Eight countries, including Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Slovenia, have already submitted questions in advance on topics such as the protection of discrimination, gender-based violence, the rights of minorities, and the protection of human rights in the context of counter-terrorism and police violence.

During the session, the Austrian delegation will have the opportunity to respond to the concerns and recommendations of the other UN member states.
