The conference will take stock of the educational materials developed within the framework of the Council of Europe’s educational programs and aims to help increase their visibility. Common strategies will be developed to help democracy and human rights gain more prominence in education. Materials and integrative approaches in educational practice will be presented to support the implementation of the new Network of Democratic Schools as well as the implementation of the Reference Framework for Democratic Competences.

The conference will also see the launch of the new Living Democracy website, developed by the Zurich University of Teacher Education in collaboration with the Council of Europe.

Patricia Hladschik and Ulrike Wolff-Jontofsohn will hold a workshop on “Implementing anti-discrimination measures in schools.”
