In cooperation with the Austrian Ombudsman Board, an expert meeting on violence prevention in prisons was planned as part of the NPM Standard project. It was to have taken place in Vienna from Wed, 6 May 2020 to Thu, 7 May 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the measures taken, an online workshop is now planned in which members of the National Preventive Mechanisms of the European Member States, academics and practitioners from prisons will discuss how international prison standards for the reduction of violence can be better monitored and, above all, implemented.
