On the occassion of the EU Anti-Trafficking Day the Austrian Task Force on Combating Human Trafficking in cooperation with the Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation (VIDC), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the OSCE and the Principality of Liechtenstein is organising the Conference “Follow the money: Financial aspects of combating human trafficking” from Wed,13 October 2021 to Thu, 14 October 2021 .

Within the frame of the conference Helmut Sax, Senior Researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights and expert on Rights of the Child and Rights of Trafficked Persons, will be holding a workshop together with the LEFÖ Intervention Center for Trafficked Women (LEFÖ-IBF) on the topic “Access to Remedy: The Role of Compensation, Specifically for Women and Children, in Combating Human Trafficking”.

Compensation is a significant instrument which serves restorative, punitive, and preventive purposes. Although trafficked persons have an established right to compensation and alternative mechanisms, many obstacles to effective access to justice still exist, especially in the context of trafficked children. Together with international experts, LEFÖ-IBF, and the LBI-GMR, this workshop will discuss the importance of effective access to remedy for trafficked women and children in the fight against human trafficking.

The hybrid conference is a public event and free of charge. Participants are kindly requested to register until 11 October 2021.

Please find information about the registration and the programme in the invitation brochure in the download section below.
