The restrictions of the past months have clearly shown how precious and fragile fundamental and human rights are. The Austrian League for Human Rights invites to a press conference at which the human rights situation in Austria will be highlighted and the need for improvement will be identified.
A report will be presented, which is part of a comprehensive review of Austria’s human rights situation (Universal Periodic Review, or UPR) by around 250 civil society organizations at the UN Human Rights Council. The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) has contributed its expertise in the areas of the rights of the accused, the penal system, children’s rights and asylum.
During the online press conference, Dr. Barbara Helige, President of the Austrian League for Human Rights, RA MMag. Florian Horn, coordination team of the report of the Austrian League for Human Rights, and Mag.a Annelies Vilim, Executive Director AG Global Responsibility, will present the most essential findings of the report.
