Symposium on Dictatorship and Resistance

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the execution of the first resistance fighters against the Nazi regime, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law of the University of Vienna and the association „Justizgeschichte & Rechtsstaat“ commemorate the victims and resistance fighters within the framework of the symposium “Diktatur und Widerstand” (Dictatorship and Resistance). The symposium will take place from Wed, 29 June 2022- Fri, 1 July 2022 at four locations in Vienna.

In addition to readings from letters written by resistance fighters in prison, the Austrian resistance fighter and survivor of the Nazi regime, Käthe Sasso, will also describe her impressions. In addition, relevant scientific questions will be highlighted and discussed during the symposium. The symposium will also include the opening of the exhibition “Democracy – Human Rights – Rule of Law” curated by the association Justizgeschichte & Rechtsstaat“ at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights.
