Lecture: Human rights and the judiciary

Andreas Sauermoser, researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, will discuss the topic of “Human Rights and the Judiciary”.
The importance of the judiciary in safeguarding and promoting human rights is constantly growing. More and more civil society organizations are using legal channels to implement political demands. This development as well as its possibilities and concerns, will be discussed at an event on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Krems Regional Court.
Shoura Zehetner-Hashemi, Managing Director of Amnesty International Austria, will begin with a presentation on human rights and justice, followed by a panel discussion with the participation of Friedrich Forsthuber, President of the Regional Court for Criminal Matters Vienna, and our colleague Andreas Sauermoser from the programme line “General Human Rights Issues“.
