Prof. Manfred Nowak (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights) has published a legal evaluation on the Annexation of Crimea by Russia in the online-version of the newspaper “Der Standard”. In the article he gives an analysis on Russia’s attempts to justify the Annexation with instruments of international law and questions in which way the highly controversial right of self-determination can be exercised and implemented in practice.
