The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights has recently become a member of the LEAP (Legal Experts Advisory Panel) Network. “LEAP is an EU-wide network of experts in criminal justice and human rights which works to promote fair and effective judicial cooperation within Europe” and is coordinated by Fair Trials.

Contact point at the BIM is Nóra Katona, who represented the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights at the LEAP Annual Conference in March 2017. The discussions focused on cross-border justice, alternatives to detention and procedural rights (esp. the Right to a Lawyer).
