Focus Group Discussion „A new Asylum Policy for Europe?!“
In the framework of the project on “A new Asylum Policy for Europe?! How human rights of refugees can be secured in the future”, supported by respekt.net (see www.respekt.net), the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights holds a Focus Group Discussion, taking place in Vienna on Tuesday, 26 April 2016, 13:30-17:30.
Taking part in the discussion are experts in asylum and migration from EU institutions (European Commission, Representation Austria), EU agencies (FRA), International Organisations (UNHCR), NGOs and Think Tanks (amongst others ECRE, CCME) and science (amongst others Refugee Law Initiative, University of London). Given the current state of the European Asylum System where human rights of persons in need of protection are at many points endangered, the aim of the discussion is to develop recommendations for alternative approaches that are based on a human rights perspective.
