The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights – ​Research Association (BIM-FV) was granted special consultative status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. Consultative status enables an organization to actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with various human rights mechanisms of the United Nations, ad-hoc processes on small arms, as well as special events organized by the President of the General Assembly.
