Präsentation des Atlas der Folter im Rahmen eines Side-Events beim UN Menschenrechtsrat

26 June 2019 – On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM) and Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems (HURIDOCS) are launching the new Atlas of Torture.

The Atlas of Torture will be presented at the side-event “Strengthening the anti-torture movement: multiplying impacts through cooperation and technology”, co-organised by the BIM, HURIDOCS, the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The event will bring together human rights researchers and practitioners in order to discuss ways to increase collective impact through strengthened cooperation and the use of digital platforms. The event will be moderated by Manfred Nowak from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights and former UN Special Rapporteur on Torture (2004 – 2010), who will discuss with Nils Melzer (UN Special Rapporteur on Torture), Stephanie Selg (ODIHR), Gerald Staberock (OMCT), Giuliana Monina (BIM) and Manushak Mila Guilhem (HURIDOCS) about cooperation and technology to advance in the fight against torture.

The event will take place on 26 June 2019, in Geneva, Palais des Nations, Room VIII, from 11 am – 12 pm and will be live-streamed on Facebook.
