We warmly welcome our new colleague Edith Riegler at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR). Since January 2023 she has been working at our Institute as a researcher in the programme line “Human Dignity and Public Security”.

Edith Riegler holds a Master’s degree in Criminolgy and Criminal Justice from Leiden University. She has previously worked as a Consultant for the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, HIV/AIDS Section and for the NGO Penal Reform International. Her work focused on human rights of people in prison, including access to health services and promoting fair and effective criminal justice systems. Edith Rieglers interests lie in penal policies and reform, non-custodial measures and the experience of marginalised groups within criminal justice systems.
