The institute’s project “EU Support for Rule of Law” in North Macedonia will be officially kicked off in September.

On Thursday, 21 September 2023, the official launch event of the European Union-funded project “EU Support for Rule of Law” will take place in Skopje. The project is coordinated by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) and implemented in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, the Slovenian Ministry of the Interior and the Dutch Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC). The project focuses on supporting North Macedonia on its way to more rule of law and transparency. Special focus is put on the areas of justice, fight against organised crime, anti-corruption as well as fundamental rights.

The festive event will inform about the objectives of the project and lay the foundation for the joint efforts of the EU, the project consortium and North Macedonia’s administration. More information on the project content can be found here.

The LBI-GMR will be represented at the event by the institute’s Administrative Director, Patricia Mussi-Mailer, as well as Agnes Taibl and Katharina Langer. Other participants include high-level representatives of partner institutions, such as the Minister of Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Head of Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia.

Registration by email to nanxvwrin@ebynj.zx is requested.
