Numerous international experts are gathering in the Slovenian capital to discuss the interplay between artificial intelligence (AI) and human rights.

Michael Lysander Fremuth, Scientific Director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR) and Professor of Fundamental and Human Rights at the University of Vienna, and our colleagues Konstantina Stavrou and Keketso Kgomosotho will be attending the “Global Conference on AI and Human Rights” in Ljubljana in mid-June.

On Friday, 14 June 2024, experts will discuss the topic of ‘AI, Fair Trial, Right to Effective Remedy and Access to Justice’ under the moderation of Michael Lysander Fremuth. Fremuth himself will discuss a potential human right to human decisions. Konstantina Stavrou, researcher and university assistant at the LBI-GMR, will provide exciting input on user-generated content and deepfakes in international criminal proceedings. In a subsequent panel, our colleague Keketso Kgomosotho will shed light on the discrimination potential of AI and present the audience with new approaches to the legal control of algorithmic AI discrimination.

The conference will offer an opportunity to gain comprehensive information and exchange views on the interplay between artificial intelligence (AI) and human rights.
