Project start: ECHOFunds
The project aims at enhancing the compatibility of EU funds with the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU.
Coordinated by Katrin Wladasch, head of our programme line (In-)Equalities and Non-Discrimination, a new project funded by the CERV programme of the European Union has started in March. The project will seek to contribute to enhanced compatibility of EU funds throughout the funding cycle with fundamental rights obligations and principles enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU. Together with our project partners, European Centre, Centre for European Constitutional Law (CECL) and Institute for Law and Society (INPRIS), our project team will conduct further research on the fundamental rights conditionality of EU funds and the (potential) role of national bodies with a human rights remit.
Project activities will also include the organisation of national events for relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, the project aims at reaching a wider public by developing materials that will be published online for easy and practical usage.
