Johanna Blimlinger
MAJohanna Blimlinger has been a researcher in the (In)Equality and Non-Discrimination Research Group since 2024. Her work focuses on antidiscrimination law, the legal and social dimensions of gender relations with a particular emphasis on gender-based violence, and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. In addition, she works on the implementation of human rights at the local level, participatory research approaches, and intersectional perspectives on equality and antidiscrimination.
Johanna studied law at the University of Vienna and completed a master’s programme in “Human Rights, Culture, and Social Justice” at Goldsmiths, University of London. After completing her legal clerkship, she was employed at Campus Wien University of Applied Sciences. She then worked at the (Federal) Equal Treatment Commission and at the Institute for Legal Gender Studies at Johannes Kepler University Linz before joining the LBI-GMR in 2024.

National Framework for Protection Against Violence in Higher Education and Research
On behalf of the ministry of women, science and research, LBI-GMR supports the development of a national framework for the prevention of and response to gender-based violence at Austrian higher education and research institutions within this issue. The project builds on the findings of the previous Status quo assessment and implements two of its key recommendations through a cross-sectoral and participatory process.

Status quo assessment of measures and support services regarding gender-based violence at Austrian higher education and research institutions within the remit of the BMFWF
The project examines the measures and support services currently available at higher education and research institutions within the remit of the BMFWF to combat gender-based violence and develops recommendations for the individual sectors as well as the federal ministry.
