Moritz Birk is a human rights expert, systemic organizational consultant and coach. From 2020 to 2023, he served as Advocacy & Research Director at Amnesty International Austria (currently on educational leave). Prior to that, he worked as Assistant to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture from 2009-2010, Senior Researcher from 2010-2013, and Head of the Human Dignity and Public Security Unit at LBI-GMR from 2013-2020. He has deep experience in research, consulting and training worldwide and is a university lecturer among others at the European University Viadrina and University of Vienna. He is also a member of the Human Rights Advisory Board of the Ombudsman Board.
