The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights is a regional partner for the Europe & Central Asia Regional Forum 2022,  organised by the Tom Lantos Institute on Mon, 2 May 2022- Tue, 3 May 2022.

The aim of the Regional Forum is to formulate concrete recommendations for the improvement of the regional and global minority protection regimes.The Europe & Central Asia Regional Forum will therefore provide regional insights, which will feed into the thematic work of the Special Rapporteur for his report to the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in March 2023. Furthermore, discussions will inform the work and recommendations of the 15th session of the Forum on Minority Issues, which will take place in Geneva in December 2022.

The Europe & Central Asia Regional Forum is open to the participation of states; intergovernmental organizations including United Nations agencies and mechanisms; national human rights institutions and other relevant national bodies; academics and experts on minority issues; representatives of minorities as well as civil society organizations specializing in minority issues.

Registration has now opened and will remain open until Mon, 25 April 2022.

The event will take place in a hybrid format at the Diplomatic Academy, Vienna School of International Studies and virtually using the Interactio platform. Due to current Covid rules the physical attendance is currently limited to 100 people.
